The League of Arab States and the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) opened a three-day regional meeting on Monday to advance the digital transformation of intellectual property (IP) offices across Arab countries.
Held from December 1–3 at the League’s headquarters in Cairo, the event is organized by the Intellectual Property and Competitiveness Unit within the League’s Legal Affairs Department, in cooperation with WIPO.
Ambassador Maha Bakhit, Director of the Legal Affairs Department, said the meeting builds on “a fruitful partnership dating back to 2000,” noting that the accelerating pace of digital transformation worldwide makes it essential for Arab IP systems to modernize. She emphasized that digital tools are becoming central to economic development and innovation.
