Arab League Hosts Closing of Women’s Leadership Conference

The 11th International Annual Conference of the Egypt Businesswomen Association 21 concluded this week under the patronage of the League of Arab States and the sponsorship of Egypt’s Council of Ministers, bringing together regional and international leaders to discuss women’s leadership and cross-cultural cooperation.

Held under the theme “Women’s Leadership 360 Degrees: Cross-Cultural Leadership in an Interconnected World,” the conference took place in Egypt. The opening session was hosted at the Arab League Headquarters in Cairo, drawing participation from government officials, business leaders and representatives of civil society organizations.

The event was attended by Dr. Yomna El Sheridi, president of the association, and Marie Christine Oghly, president of the FCEM, along with Eng. Margaret Sarofim, Deputy Minister of Social Solidarity, representing Minister Maya Morsy and attending on behalf of Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly.

In remarks delivered during the opening session on behalf of the Arab League, Minister Plenipotentiary Nawal Barada emphasized the growing importance of civil society institutions in supporting sustainable development amid rapid political, economic and social transformations in the Arab region and globally. She noted that empowering women and strengthening partnerships between governments, the private sector and civil society remain essential to advancing inclusive growth and social stability.
