Ambassadors of member states of the League of Arab States held a coordination meeting on Wednesday, at the organization’s General Secretariat headquarters in Cairo to discuss preparations for the upcoming Sixth Arab-European Ministerial Meeting scheduled to take place in Amman, the capital of Jordan, on June 22–23, 2026.
The meeting was chaired by Amjad Al-Adailah, Ambassador of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan to Egypt and its Permanent Representative to the Arab League, representing the host country of the ministerial gathering. The delegation of the General Secretariat was headed by Khalid bin Mohammed Manzalawi, Assistant Secretary-General and Head of the International Political Affairs Sector.
During the session, Arab permanent representatives were briefed on the latest developments regarding logistical and organizational preparations for the ministerial meeting, including discussions on the draft declaration expected to be adopted at the conclusion of the Arab-European talks. The meeting forms part of ongoing coordination efforts aimed at ensuring the success of the high-level gathering and strengthening institutional cooperation between the two sides.
Manzalawi expressed satisfaction over the imminent convening of the Sixth Arab-European Ministerial Meeting following a seven-year hiatus since the previous session, describing the resumption of the dialogue as a sign of the commitment of both Arab countries and European partners to maintaining channels of cooperation and consultation. He noted that the joint ministerial meeting seeks to enhance relations between Arab states and members of the European Union and to further develop mechanisms for political, economic and strategic cooperation.
