The Arab Fund for Technical Assistance to African Countries has launched a specialized training program aimed at strengthening cardiology services and enhancing the skills of Tanzanian healthcare professionals, officials announced Thursday.
The program, held at the Tanzania Heart Institute within Muhimbili National Hospital, coincides with the international “Cardiatan” cardiology conference in Dar es Salaam, bringing together around 200 Tanzanian and African physicians.
Speaking at the opening session, Ambassador Mohand Saleh Laajouzi, Assistant Secretary-General of the League of Arab States and Director General of the fund, said the initiative reflects ongoing efforts to promote Arab-African cooperation in healthcare through medical training and knowledge transfer.
The program includes training on advanced cardiac care practices and the performance of catheterization procedures for critical patients. Organizers said the initiative, conducted in cooperation with Egyptian and African cardiology associations, aims to improve cardiac healthcare services and build long-term medical capacity in Tanzania.
