A delegation from the Arab League’s Media and Communication Sector, led by Assistant Secretary-General Ambassador Ahmed Rashid Khattabi, is participating in the 45th General Assembly of the Arab States Broadcasting Union on December 16-17 in Tunis.
Ambassador Khattabi emphasized that the League’s engagement reflects its ongoing commitment to coordinating and cooperating with professional media organizations under its umbrella. The Assembly, focusing on professional dialogue, highlights the role of youth, innovation, and artificial intelligence in modern media.
Khattabi noted that leveraging technology in media production enhances quality and competitiveness. He added that building a modern Arab media ecosystem, aligned with sustainable development goals, requires collaborative efforts, knowledge investment, and updated training curricula. The Arab League has adopted the “Arab Artificial Intelligence Strategy” and endorsed the “Arab AI Initiative” at the recent Arab Development Summit in Baghdad.
