Ahmed Aboul Gheit, Secretary-General of Arab League, strongly condemned the criminal attack that targeted a restaurant in a hotel in the Somali capital, Mogadishu, last Friday evening, an attack claimed by the terrorist group Al-Shabaab.
The official spokesperson for the Secretary-General, Counselor Gamal Roshdy, stated that Aboul Gheit denounced this cowardly terrorist act, which resulted in dozens of casualties and injuries, aiming to weaken the federal government and instill fear among civilians.
Aboul Gheit expressed his heartfelt condolences to the government and people of Somalia and the families of the victims of this terrorist act, wishing the injured a swift recovery.
He affirmed the Arab League's unwavering solidarity with the Federal Republic of Somalia, both government and people, in combating anything that threatens its security and stability or undermines the progress made by the Somali government on all fronts.
