Ahmed Aboul Gheit, Secretary-General of the Arab League, strongly condemned the Israeli occupation forces’ bombing of the village of Kuwaya in western rural Daraa, southern Syria.
The attack resulted in the martyrdom and injury of several innocent civilians.
Aboul Gheit reiterated Arab League’s firm rejection of Israel’s continuous assaults on Syrian territory, calling them a blatant violation of the country’s sovereignty and an opportunistic attempt to exploit Syria’s current delicate situation to seize its land and fuel conflicts.
Jamal Rushdi, the spokesperson for the Secretary-General, stated that Aboul Gheit emphasized the urgent need for the UN Security Council to fulfill its responsibilities by halting Israel’s unjustified aggression against Syria and compelling it to adhere to international law and the 1974 Disengagement Agreement.
He urged the international community to take a firm and clear stance in deterring Israel’s expansionist and aggressive policies against the region’s nations and people.
The spokesperson reaffirmed the Arab League’s solidarity with the Syrian Arab Republic in the face of these repeated Israeli violations and expressed full support for Syria’s sovereignty, unity, independence, and territorial integrity.
