Ahmed Aboul Gheit, Arab League Secretary-General, met with Yemeni Prime Minister (PM) Dr. Ahmed Bin Mubarak on the sidelines of the Antalya Diplomacy Forum.
During the meeting, Aboul Gheit reaffirmed the Arab League's steadfast support for the Yemeni government.
Moreover, he warned that the persistence of the conflict could lead to broader regional repercussions, particularly in light of the heightened tensions surrounding maritime navigation security in the Red Sea.
The Secretary-General listened to the Prime Minister’s assessment of the current situation in Yemen, emphasizing that a political solution remains the only viable path to preserving the country's unity and preventing further fragmentation.
Furthermore, the Arab League pledged its continued support for Yemeni state-building efforts.
Moreover, Aboul Gheit welcomed the approval of the country's first general budget in years, describing it as a critical step toward economic stability and the improvement of public services.
This meeting reflects a growing Arab commitment to addressing the Yemeni crisis, especially given its direct impact on the security of international shipping lanes and regional strategic balances.
