Secretary-General of Arab League, Ahmed Aboul Gheit, arrived in Jordan on Sunday as part of a delegation from the Arab-Islamic Ministerial Committee tasked with following up on developments in the war in Gaza.
Jamal Rushdi, official spokesperson for Secretary-General, stated that the delegation is expected to meet with His Majesty King Abdullah II of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan.
Rushdi added that the delegation had initially planned to visit Ramallah and meet with Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas. However, the occupying power decided to prevent the delegation from making the visit.
The spokesperson quoted Aboul Gheit as strongly condemning this arrogant decision by the occupying power, emphasizing that it reflects a continued and deliberate violation of international law and a clear intent to isolate the Palestinian people and their leadership.
