The Secretary-General of the Arab League, Ahmed Aboul Gheit, has issued a fierce condemnation regarding the persistent military provocations targeting the State of Kuwait. In an official statement, Aboul Gheit strongly denounced the recent wave of Iranian attacks involving ballistic missiles and unmanned aerial vehicles (drones) directed at Kuwaiti territory.
The Arab League chief emphasized that these ongoing hostile actions represent a flagrant violation of international law, the United Nations Charter, and relevant UN Security Council resolutions governing regional peace and security.
Escalation Threatens Regional Stability
Aboul Gheit expressed absolute rejection of Iran's military escalation, warning that targeting Kuwait directly jeopardizes civilian lives and severely compromises the nation's state sovereignty, security, and stability. He noted that these aggressive developments come at a critical juncture when intense diplomatic efforts are actively underway to defuse geopolitical tensions and contain the overarching crisis in the Middle East.
According to the Arab League leadership, persisting with this aggressive approach will yield no strategic benefits for Tehran. Instead, it will only deepen Iran’s regional and international isolation while systematically undermining prospects for de-escalation, ceasefires, and diplomatic political solutions. Aboul Gheit reiterated his call for absolute respect of state borders and urged all parties to refrain from actions that destabilize the region.
Praise for Kuwaiti Air Defense Forces
Gamal Roshdy, the official spokesperson for the Secretary-General, conveyed Aboul Gheit’s deep appreciation for the exceptional readiness and efficiency of the Kuwaiti Air Defense Forces. The specialized military units successfully intercepted and neutralized the incoming airborne threats, preventing casualties and infrastructure damage.
The Arab League reaffirmed its unwavering solidarity with the State of Kuwait. The regional bloc pledged full support for all defense and security measures implemented by the Kuwaiti government to safeguard its borders, maritime security, and territorial integrity.
Concluding the statement, the Arab League re-emphasized a core geopolitical principle: the security of Kuwait remains an integral, inseparable part of collective Arab National Security. Regional allies stand united in the face of any foreign threat targeting the stability of the Gulf nation.
