Ahmed Aboul Gheit, Secretary-General of Arab League, met with Mr. Karim Khan, the Prosecutor of the International Criminal Court (ICC), during his participation in the Antalya Diplomacy Forum in Turkey.
The discussion focused on the serious crimes committed by the Israeli occupation in Gaza, as well as the jurisdiction of the ICC and its crucial role in holding Israeli officials accountable for these crimes.
For his part, Aboul Gheit expressed his support for the ICC Prosecutor, who is facing significant pressure, and affirmed that Khan is playing an important role in defending the credibility of the international justice system, which has long been tarnished by accusations of double standards and hypocrisy.
Aboul Gheit stressed that Israel’s attempts to undermine and challenge the justice system, unfortunately with the support of some countries, constitute a serious threat to the rules-based international order.
He warned that the consequences of these actions could go far beyond the tragedy in Gaza, with all its crimes and massacres.
