Secretary-General of Arab League, Ahmed Aboul Gheit, held a meeting today, Sunday, with Jordan's Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates, Ayman Safadi, at the headquarters of the Jordanian Foreign Ministry in Amman.
Ambassador Hossam Zaki, the Assistant Secretary-General, stated that the meeting focused on the regional situation in general and the developments of the Palestinian issue in particular, especially in the context of preparations for the Extraordinary Arab Summit scheduled to be held in Cairo on March 4.
He further explained that the discussion also covered preparations for the upcoming session of the Arab League Council at the level of foreign ministers, which Jordan will preside over.
Additionally, the meeting reflected a consensus on the Arab political stance regarding proposals that could potentially lead to the liquidation and termination of the Palestinian cause.
