Arab League Secretary-General Nabil Fahmy warned that Iran's attacks on several Arab countries represent a dangerous escalation aimed at widening the regional conflict and undermining security and stability across the Middle East.

In a statement issued on Saturday, Fahmy strongly condemned what he described as unjustified Iranian attacks targeting Bahrain, Jordan, Qatar and Kuwait, as well as repeated strikes on the Kurdistan Region of Iraq. He said the attacks targeted vital infrastructure and reflected an aggressive approach that violates the sovereignty of Arab states, international law and the principles of good neighbourly relations.

Fahmy stressed that an attack on any Arab country is an attack on Arab national security as a whole. He called on Iran to halt its attacks immediately, reduce tensions, stop actions that threaten regional stability and maritime security, and return to negotiations in line with international law and its commitments.

He reaffirmed the Arab League's full solidarity with the affected Arab countries and its support for all measures taken to protect their sovereignty, security and stability.
