The Secretary-General of Arab League, Ahmed Aboul Gheit, has condemned in the strongest terms the continuation of the brutal Iranian aggression targeting vital civilian facilities in the State of Kuwait.
The attacks hit several targets, including power generation and water desalination plants, resulting in significant material damage.
According to the statement, the attacks included government buildings and oil facilities in the Shuwaikh area, belonging to the Kuwait National Petroleum Company (KNPC) and the Petroleum Industries Petrochemical Company (PIC).
This reflects an expanded scope of targeting aimed at crippling vital sectors.
Aboul Gheit emphasized that Iran’s persistent targeting of civilian infrastructure and essential life requirements—such as energy, water, transport, and airports—represents an escalatory approach and an unjustifiable act of aggression, despite repeated international condemnations.
He further stressed that these assaults constitute a full-fledged crime under International Humanitarian Law, holding the Iranian regime fully responsible for the resulting consequences.
The official spokesperson for the Secretary-General, Jamal Rushdi, conveyed Aboul Gheit’s unwavering support for the leadership and people of Kuwait.
He reaffirmed full solidarity with all measures taken by the state to confront these attacks and protect its national assets.
