The Arab League Council has affirmed that Iran bears full legal responsibility for attacks targeting Arab countries, stressing the obligation to compensate for all damages and losses in accordance with international law.

In a resolution issued at the ministerial level following a meeting requested by Bahrain, the council expressed strong support for the right of affected Arab states to seek legal recourse through regional and international institutions. The move aims to secure rulings condemning the attacks and holding Tehran accountable for their political and legal consequences.

The council also called for coordinated Arab efforts to establish mechanisms for documenting violations, assessing damages, and pursuing compensation through diplomatic and legal channels. This includes systematic follow-up on claims and ensuring that affected states receive appropriate reparations.

In the same context, the council renewed its condemnation of Iranian actions and threats related to the Strait of Hormuz, emphasizing that any disruption to navigation constitutes a violation of international law and a direct threat to global energy security and trade flows.

The resolution further criticized Iran’s continued support for armed militias in several Arab countries, describing such actions as a serious threat to regional stability and security.

The Arab League urged the United Nations Security Council to take immediate action to halt attacks and enforce relevant international resolutions, particularly Resolution 2817. It also reaffirmed the right of Arab states to self-defense, whether individually or collectively, in line with the UN Charter.

Finally, the council tasked Arab diplomatic missions, especially at the United Nations, with mobilizing international support and conveying the contents of the resolution to strengthen the unified Arab position on the issue.
