Arab Fund Launches Multi-Field Diplomatic Training Courses in Nouakchott

The Arab Fund for Technical Assistance to African Countries, affiliated with the League of Arab States, on Monday launched a series of multi-field training courses at the Mauritanian Diplomatic Academy for Mauritanian diplomats.

Ambassador Mohand Saleh Laajouzi, Assistant Secretary-General of the Arab League and Director-General of the fund, delivered opening remarks via video conference, conveying greetings from Arab League Secretary-General Ahmed Aboul Gheit and wishing participants success.

Laajouzi praised Mauritania for hosting the program and commended the academy’s role in preparing diplomatic cadres. He said the initiative marks the third training cycle and expands beyond traditional diplomacy to include environmental diplomacy and diplomatic engagement with media, reflecting evolving global demands.

Organizers said the courses aim to enhance professional skills, encourage exchange of expertise, and strengthen diplomatic cooperation. The program is expected to help participants build professional networks and better serve their country’s diplomatic missions.
