The Arab Cultural Salon has mourned the death of prominent Arab philosopher and critical thinker Dr. Murad Wahba, who passed away late Tuesday at nearly 100 years old after a long intellectual career that left a lasting mark on contemporary Arab thought.
In a statement, Dr. Hussein Al-Hindawi, president of the Arab Cultural Salon in Cairo, described Wahba as one of the most influential advocates of Arab Enlightenment thought. He said Wahba’s philosophical project, books and lectures played a vital role in promoting scientific reasoning and strengthening a culture of dialogue across the Arab world for decades.
Al-Hindawi extended condolences to Wahba’s family, students and admirers, as well as to intellectuals throughout the Arab region, praising the late philosopher’s enduring legacy and profound contributions to philosophy and critical thinking.
