Organized by Rosatom, the Science Festival Week, hosted by the Arab Academy for Science, Technology, and Maritime Transport, has been celebrated for the second time in Egypt from December 8 to 12, 2024.
Held across Cairo, Alamein, and Alexandria, the event has been aimed at inspiring young minds, enhancing scientific awareness, and showcasing nuclear science's transformative potential.
Events have been conducted at the academy’s campuses in Cairo and Alamein, alongside Ain Shams University and Alexandria University.
Schools in Cairo and Alexandria have also been included, enabling students to participate in interactive scientific activities.
Professor Dr. Ismail Abdel Ghaffar Ismail Farag, President of the Academy, expressed his delight, saying: "We are pleased to host the Science Festival Week today, which stands as a remarkable event for knowledge exchange and enhancing scientific awareness. The festival provides an excellent platform for fostering interaction among participants, contributing to a culture of innovation."
Dr. Abdel Ghaffar added that the Academy places great emphasis on scientific communication and the dissemination of a culture of science, technology, and innovation.
He noted that hosting such events aligns with the Academy's vision of offering an interactive educational environment that inspires new generations to engage in research and exploration.
For his part, Murad Aslanov, Head of Rosatom's Office in Egypt, said, "The Science Festival celebrates human achievements in science and explores the boundless horizons of scientific research. By engaging young minds, sparking their passion for knowledge, and inspiring the next generation of leaders, we are planting and nurturing the seeds of scientific creativity. This effort not only advances nuclear technology but also drives transformative changes across industries and enhances quality of life."
