Apple is working on a major overhaul of Siri, backed by an internal AI testing app called Veritas, described as similar to ChatGPT.
The app, built for iPhone, allows Apple engineers to quickly trial advanced Siri capabilities, like searching personal emails, texts, and music libraries, or executing in-app commands such as editing photos or launching playlists.
The goal: transform Siri from a reactive voice assistant into a proactive digital helper.
According to Bloomberg, Apple’s AI division is using Veritas to stress-test new features ahead of Siri’s relaunch in March 2026. The app itself will remain internal, serving as a controlled testbed.
This two-track approach lets Apple evaluate privacy, speed, and performance before choosing the best path forward.
When Siri 2026 ships, users can expect deeper on-screen awareness, contextual commands, faster task execution inside apps, and AI-powered direct answers from Apple’s own “Answers, Knowledge, and Information” system, reducing reliance on third-party search tools.
