AP Speaker to Participate in ASSECAA Conference

The Arab Parliament (AP) Speaker, Adel Al-Asoomi, arrived in the Kingdom of Morocco and was welcomed by H. Naam Miyara, President of the Moroccan House of Councillors.

Al-Asoomi is set to participate in the 9th Conference of the Association of Senates, Shura, and Equivalent Councils in Africa and the Arab World (ASSECAA) from 3 to 5 March 2022, hosted in Rabat.

The Conference, which will bring together high-level Arab political and diplomatic figures, will discuss, inter alia, the theme "African-Arab cooperation and solidarity as a fundamental pillar of economic and development rehabilitation" in the context of the Coronavirus pandemic, as well as youth and women’s topics at the core of development policies and sustainable investments.

The Parliamentary Dialogue will discuss the role of the Senate, Shoora and Equivalent Councils in promoting cooperation between the Arab and African sides, besides examining trade and economic exchanges between Africa, the Arab world, Latin America, and the Caribbean.

The Conference is scheduled to issue the Rabat Charter for the Senate, Shoora and Equivalent Councils in Africa, the Arab World, Latin America, and the Caribbean.
