Lebanese President Joseph Aoun said on Wednesday that Israel is escalating its military actions against Lebanon, accusing it of committing a new “massacre” in defiance of humanitarian principles and ongoing efforts to restore stability.
In remarks carried by Lebanon’s official news agency, Aoun said the attacks reflect a disregard for de-escalation initiatives and undermine attempts to maintain regional calm.
He described the strikes as “barbaric,” adding that they demonstrate a lack of respect for agreements, commitments, and established international laws and norms.
Aoun warned that the continuation of such actions would further heighten tensions and instability, stressing the urgent need for restraint and adherence to international obligations.
