AOI, Germany Sign MoU to Manufacture Smart Meters in Egypt

The Arab Organization for Industrialization (AOI) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with German company Dell to develop the domestic manufacture of smart meters.

This comes as part of the organization's strategy to increase the rate of local components in the national projects.

AOI Chairman Abdel Moneim el Tarras said that the Organization is keen to implement President Abdel Fattah El Sisi's directives to strengthen domestic manufacturing of smart meters with global partners.

Both the AOI and Dell will probe fostering partnership including the transfer of skills and expertise to strengthen the local industry and develop water and gas meters according to the latest international standards, as well as hitting new markets in Africa.

For his part, Dell's representative praised AOI manufacturing policy including inpidual skills, and the capacity to improve technology with the usage of the latest scientific techniques.

In addition, German officials dispatched their readiness to open up new boundaries for collaboration with the Egyptian side in various manufacturing domains.
