Chairman of Arab Organization for Industrialization (AOI) Abdel Moneam al Taras met on Wednesday vice president of Atomstroyexport Gregory Sosnin, on the sidelines of the international industrial and technological exhibition “The big industrial week”.

This meeting comes within the framework of the constant and continuous attention paid by both Egyptian and Russian political leaderships to Al-Dabaa nuclear power plant due to its strategic importance.

The exhibition was inaugurated earlier today by Egypt's Trade Minister Amr Nassar and his Russian counterpart Denis Manturov.

At the outset of the meeting, al-Taras applauded the historic relations between Egypt and Russia, noting that the AOI is dealing with Russian companies in various fields, and looking forward to strengthening cooperation and partnership with major Russian companies to cover the needs of the Egyptian and African markets.

“The AOI participates with its products and technological capabilities in the big industrial week fair, which represents a great opportunity,” he said. ”The entity is looking forward to participating in the giant project of Al-Dabaa nuclear power plant.”

On his part, Sosnin said that one of the most key objectives of the nuclear project is the localization of nuclear technologies in Egypt and raising the participation rates of Egyptian institutions.

He stressed that the Russian companies are keen to cooperate and establish partnerships with the AOI to transfer and localize modern technology in this important industrial field.

Moreover, the Russian official added that Egypt is currently considered a major center for the export of modern technologies from all over the world to Africa, in addition to its significant industrial zone project in the Suez Canal area.

“Egypt is a fertile ground for businessmen and modern industrial projects,” he said, pointing out that the establishment of such exhibition, besides the participation of major Egyptian national companies is an opportunity to achieve integration and partnership between the two countries.
