The Arab Observatory for Human Rights (AOHR) emphasized its determination to continue its efforts to address foreign interventions that attempt to exploit the human rights file in the Arab States and highlighted that it will develop a comprehensive and integrated evaluation of the human rights reality in the Arab States, to establish the facts and provide positive examples to confront targeted campaigns against the Arab States.
This was on the occasion of the Arab Day for Human Rights, celebrated on 16 March every year, and marks the day when the Arab Charter on Human Rights entered into force in 2008 after it was adopted in May 2004 at the Tunis Summit.
The AOHR stressed that it will act with every professionalism and credibility to support and defend the Arab States in case they are subject to any attack or targeted by foreign parties and international bodies under the pretext of “the human rights file".
The AOHR noted that it is currently studying a number of initiatives to be launched during the next phase, among the most important are: the development of an Arab strategy to strengthen the enforcement of human rights in the Arab world, the development of an integrated plan of action to promote the culture of human rights.
The AOHR commended the positive developments in the field of human rights in the Arab world and the major development in its institutions that reflects the keenness of the Arab States to protect and promote the human rights system.
