Angwa Mo... Special Dish from Ghana

While Egypt is hosting the 32nd edition of Africa Cup of Nations; one of the most powerful football championships world-wide, (SEE) shed light on the most famous dishes of the 24 countries taking part in the tournament.

Ghana’s cuisines are characterized by its persity but starches are almost the main dish there besides any kind of sauce or soup.

Here’s one of the most popular recipes in Ghana called Angwa Mo .

Ingredients

3 tbsp peanut oil

1 cup white rice

2 onions, pided into 2 pieces

2 tsp salt

1 cube Magi chicken broth

1 red hot pepper, diced

500 ml water

Extra salt and pepper

Ingredients for salted beef

3 oz. beef, diced

2 tbsp sea salt

2 bay leaves

Recipe

In a bowl, add the beef and rub it with 2 tbsp of salt then add the 2 bay leaves.

Cover the bowl and place in a warm area for 24 hours, then drain the blood and set again for another 24 hours.

As a second step, wash the rice and let it dry.

In a pot, fry the chopped onions in little hot oil until they turn out to golden brown.

Take half of the onion amount away from the pot and set aside

Add the salted beef in the pot and stir all components well then add rice and stir constantly for 2 more minutes over medium heat.

After that, add Magi cube, hot pepper, water and stir all ingredients and set on heat for 5 minutes.

Add the remaining onion and set for another 5 minutes.

Finally, turn off the heat and set the covered pot for another 5 minutes before serving the yummy Angwa Mo!
