On Friday, numerous capitals and cities around the world witnessed a wave of demonstrations and mass protests rejecting the "law to execute Palestinian prisoners," which was passed by the Israeli Knesset on March 30th, amidst widespread international condemnation. Protesters also denounced the continued closure of the Al-Aqsa Mosque in occupied Jerusalem by Israeli occupation authorities since February 28th, under the pretext of "preventing gatherings" amidst the ongoing Israeli-American war on Iran.
In Syria, hundreds of citizens gathered in the heart of the capital, Damascus, on Friday in an angry protest condemning the Israeli Knesset's passage of the law authorizing the death penalty for Palestinian prisoners. They expressed their full solidarity with the Gaza Strip in the face of ongoing Israeli attacks.
The demonstration began after Friday prayers in the courtyard of the Umayyad Mosque, and participants chanted slogans against the Israeli occupation and its Prime Minister, Benjamin Netanyahu.
The demonstrators raised Palestinian flags and expressed solidarity with the Gaza Strip, voicing their anger at the violations and practices committed by the Israeli authorities against Palestinian detainees.
Other Syrian cities, including Jisr al-Shughur in Idlib province in the northwest of the country, also witnessed protests in support of Palestine and in rejection of the law allowing the execution of prisoners.
In Morocco, hundreds of citizens took to the streets in several cities across the country on Friday in large-scale protests condemning the unjust law against Palestinian prisoners and the continued closure of the Al-Aqsa Mosque.
These demonstrations came in response to calls issued by the Moroccan Authority for Supporting the Issues of the Nation and the Moroccan Front for the Support of Palestine, both non-governmental organizations. Hundreds of participants gathered in cities including Tangier, Tetouan, and Nador in the north, Mohammedia in the west, Oujda in the northeast, and Taroudant in the south.
