A few hours ago, iconic Egyptian singer Ali El Haggar shared the stage with skilled conductor Hesham Gabr and his orchestra for an Andalusian and Oriental musical night under the theme of "Andalusian Echoes."
The mood of the concert is based on reviving the unforgotten "Mowshahat" and reintroducing them to the rising generations but in a more contemporary and orchestral form.
The harmony between the flute and the 'qanun' created a magical combination, there was a sense of nostalgia, nocturne, and enjoyment.
The beautiful chanting and singing of the chorus took the audience to the old and folk style of singing and chanting in Andalusia with all its beautiful breathtaking voices. It amazingly chanted the celebrated "Lama Badaa Yat-thana," and "Ya Man Nasha Hobi Fi El Ghasha."
Moreover, El Haggar, who still preserves his breathtaking voice through the decades, iconically sang Sayed Darwish's songs such as "Ana Haweet Wi Entaheet," and "Ya Shady El Alhan."
During the concert, El Haggar expressed, "It was one of my dreams to perform our musical heritage, I did my best to achieve this dream, I contacted the former Culture Minister and nothing happened. I am so grateful for you maestro, and for everyone who contributed to this event."
All songs belonged to the Arabic and Andalusian musical heritage with their whelming sounds, catchy poetic lines, and mystic mood.
It is worthy to mention that El Haggar performed one of his original song, "Aala Aad Ma Habina."
Gabr told RT that Andalusian Mowashaht themes revolved around knights, and romance, and its creation was based on the deep musical connection between Oriental and Andalusian music.
Regarding his cooperation with El Haggar, he indicated that he was very pleased to cooperate with him due to his professionalism and culture. "He has a great passion for music and singing and he is one of the few Arab singers who are capable of dealing with such heritage," Gabr described.
Finally, Gabr highlighted the main aim of this experience which is reviving the art of Mowashahat by enriching it musically with orchestral and contemporary dimensions.
