After the nomination of Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El Sisi for the Nobel Peace Prize 2020, U.S. President Donald Trump has been nominated to the same prize following the UAE-Israel peace agreement.

The Federation of North African Parliaments nominated early this month Egyptian President Sisi, South Sudan President Silva Kiir, and President of Sudan Sovereign Council Abdel Fattah al-Burhan for the Nobel Peace Prize following the signing of the Sudanese peace agreement in Juba.

The Egyptian Parliament and speaker of the Federation of North African Parliaments, Mostafa Al-Gendi, welcomed the signing of the Sudanese peace agreement in Juba and said that the Egyptian president, Kiir, and al-Burhan deserve Nobel Peace Prize.Analysis- Sisi or Trump... Not only brokering the Sudanese peace agreement but also Sisi plays a pivotal role in resolving other regional crises, most notably in Libya, Palestine and East Mediterranean.

Egypt hosted several conferences and dialogues for the purpose of reaching a political settlement to the Libyan crisis.

Sisi keeps direct and frequent contacts with world leaders for coordination and collaboration in various issues at all levels.

It’s expected that a prisoner swap deal will be announced shortly between Palestine’s Hamas Movement and Israel. Egyptian security apparatuses brokered this potential deal.

Lebanon and Iraq also top the priority list of Egyptian diplomacy.

On the other side, President Trump has been nominated for the Nobel Peace Prize for helping broker a peace deal between Israel on one hand and the United Arab Emirates and the Kingdom of Bahrain on the other hand.Analysis- Sisi or Trump... Who Deserves 2020 Nobel Peace Prize?

It’s noteworthy that Sisi was the first leader to officially welcome the peace accords between UAE and Bahrain and Israel.

Christian Tybring-Gjedde, a member of the Norwegian Parliament and chairman of the NATO Parliamentary Assembly, submitted the nomination, according to the reports published by Fox News and New York Post.

Trump allies have previously suggested the possibility of a Nobel in response to his negotiations with North Korea.

There are 318 candidates for the Nobel Peace Prize for 2020, of which 211 are inpiduals and 107 are organizations.

The Norwegian Nobel Committee is responsible for the selection of eligible candidates and the choice of the Nobel Peace Prize Laureates. The Committee is composed of five members appointed by the Storting (Norwegian parliament). The Nobel Peace Prize is awarded in Oslo, Norway, not in Stockholm, Sweden, where the Nobel Prizes in Physics, Chemistry, Physiology or Medicine, Literature and the Economics Prize are awarded.Analysis- Sisi or Trump...
