Social media users reported feeling the tremor, with residents of Greater Cairo and several other governorates sharing their experiences online.
The National Seismic Network confirmed the earthquake, which occurred early Monday morning.
- The earthquake struck at 5:40 AM, registering 3.61 on the Richter scale.
- The epicenter was located at a depth of 14.44 kilometers below the Earth's surface, at coordinates 30.23 degrees north and 31.92 degrees east.
- The epicenter was approximately 17 kilometers from Sidi El-Dakrouri in Suez Governorate and about 40 kilometers southeast of Belbeis.
