Amy Adams and Jake Gyllenhaal will team again in a movie adaptation of scientist Suzanne Simard's new memoir "Finding the Mother Tree".

The movie will be produced by Adams and Stacy O’Neil for Bond Group Entertainment, and Gyllenhaal and Riva Marker for Nine Stories, after the companies gained rights to the project.

Adams is also set to star as Simard, a world-renowned scientist, and ecologist who first discovered how trees communicate underground. Simard’s work has been praised as having “planetary significance” and forever changing the way we look at trees.

Adams and Gyllenhaal collaborated for the first time in the 2016 American neo-noir psychological thriller movie "Nocturnal Animals".
