Amsterdam Schiphol Airport, one of Europe’s busiest airports, cancelled at least 700 flights on Wednesday after heavy snowfall and strong winds severely disrupted operations.
According to airport authorities, flight traffic remains unstable as weather conditions continue to affect runways and ground services.
Radio France Internationale reported that more than 1,000 passengers spent the night at the airport after being unable to travel.
Airport management said beds were provided for travelers forced to stay overnight, while staff worked to assist stranded passengers and restore normal operations.
The severe weather has caused widespread delays and cancellations, with officials warning that disruptions may continue until conditions improve.
