Egypt's Minister of Communications and Information Technology Amr Talaat departed from Cairo this morning en route to Belgrade, the capital of Serbia, for a three-day visit.
According to the Ministry of Communications, Talaat is expected to engage in a series of meetings with various ministers, government officials, and representatives from universities, research and development institutions, as well as Serbian enterprises during his stay.
The discussions will focus on strengthening collaboration and sharing expertise between Egypt and Serbia in the domains of communications and information technology, as well as attracting investments.
This visit is a response to an invitation from the Serbian Minister of Information and Communications and the Minister of Scientific Research, aimed at providing Talaat with an in-depth understanding of the Serbian communications and information technology sector, along with the initiatives being undertaken in technological innovation and entrepreneurship.
Additionally, this trip seeks to advance the implementation of the memorandum of understanding that was signed between the two nations during the Serbian President's visit to Egypt last July.
This agreement is designed to bolster joint cooperation, particularly in areas such as digital transformation, outsourcing, and the exchange of expertise in developing technological cities, while also enhancing investment opportunities by encouraging Serbian companies in the communications and information technology sector to invest in Egypt.
