This summer is filled with many surprises from “El-Hadaba” Amr Diab, starting from his highly-anticipated music video “Amakan El Sahar”, and his acting comeback, up to his decision to perform his first-ever online show.

Diab announced on Instagram that he will perform his first-ever virtual concert soon, which is set to be unveiled via "Ana Vodafone" application.

The 58-year-old singing legend's latest artistic work is music video, “Ya Baladna Ya Helwa”, which featured him in several tourist attractions, including scenes from on top of a Nile fountain, highlighting the country’s charm, civilization, and historical buildings.

Diab will resume acting after a 27-year hiatus with an Arabic original series for Netflix. The production, currently untitled, will be a musical drama, which is under development.

“I am thrilled to work with Netflix on this new project. I have always believed that art is a global language, and we have been able to build bridges of connections and love with perse cultures through music,” Diab said.

Diab co-starred in three films “El Afareet”, “Ice Cream in Gleam”, and “Dehk Wa Le’b Wa Gad Wa Hob”.

He co-starred as himself in his first film, “El Afareet” — released in 1989 — with prominent Egyptian actress, Madiha Kamel.

In 1992, Diab starred in his second film “Ice Cream in Gleam”, which was chosen as one of the best five Egyptian musical films by the “UCLA School of Theater, Film, and Television”.

The bestselling artist’s third film “Dehk Wa Le’b Wa Gad Wa Hob” came out in 1993, co-starring international Egyptian star Omar Sharif and prominent Egyptian actress Yousra.

Despite the films’ success, Diab did not experience the same level of success in acting as he had with his music.

He has focused on his singing career since 1993.

Diab, born on October 11, 1961, is an Egyptian multi-award-winning pop singer-songwriter. The 58-year-old singing legend is known to fans as El-Hadaba.

He has created his own style, which is often termed “Mediterranean Music”, a blend of Western and Egyptian rhythms.

Diab became the first Arabic artist to start making high-tech music videos by 1992. His fame in the entertainment industry has led him to experiment with other forms of media, such as film-making.
