Amnesty International (AI) a UN organization concerned with human rights across the world, said in a report today, Friday, that it had verified the use of banned cluster ammunition in Ukraine and said that this violated international law.
The organization added in its report that what it described as "siege tactics" by the Russian army and "indiscriminate" attacks on densely populated areas lead to the "unlawful" killing of civilians in Ukraine.
The international organization also considered launching indiscriminate attacks that kill or injure civilians as "war crimes."
The organization called on Russia to allow the arrival of humanitarian supplies and humanitarian corridors to enable the safe evacuation of all those wishing to leave.
On the other hand, the Secretary-General of the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO), Jens Stoltenberg, announced earlier that Russia had used internationally banned "cluster bombs" in Ukraine.
However, Moscow has repeatedly denied the use of this type of munitions in Ukraine since the launch of the military operation on February 24.
