Rami Haidar, a spokesman for Amnesty International in Palestine, said that the grave violations that took place against Palestinian citizens in the town of Hawara, south of Nablus, constitute a crime against humanity from the perspective of international law.
Haidar added, during televised statements on Tuesday evening, that the violations that were recorded during the attack on the town of Huwwara will be added to the file that the Palestinian Authority (PA) submitted months ago to the International Criminal Court (ICC).
He stated that Amnesty International's documentation of the events concluded that the matter was related to a crime committed by Israeli settlers against Palestinians, and that their attack on the town was not intended to riot, but rather related to a clearly defined crime.
And he went on to say that "what the occupation soldiers did in protecting the settlers while carrying out these violations is another crime punishable by international law."
The Amnesty International had called on the Israeli government to compensate the people of the town of Hawara, to prosecute the criminals, and to hold accountable those responsible for allowing the attack on the Palestinians a week ago, which was renewed on Monday night.
