Egyptian actor, Amir Karara is set to play the Angel of Death in director Peter Mimi's new project, "The Underdogs".
Mimi announced Monday the news on Facebook along with a picture of Karara from the trailer of the film "Mousa", which is set to be released on August 11.
“The Underdogs” consists of a series of Arab films and TV shows that take place in a shared universe, where the events and characters are connected.
The universe chronicles the adventures of mechatronics engineer, Yahya Saleh Al-Khayat, hacker Youssef Al-Haram, Dalela, and the Saudi pilot, Faisal.
Karara is also collaborating with Mimi on the sequel to his 2019 film “Casablanca”.
The first part of “Casablanca” was written by Hisham Hilal, directed by Mimi, and produced by Synergy Films and Walid Mansour.
It also starred Ghada Adel, Amr Abdel Gelil, Eyad Nassar, Lebleba, Mahmoud El-Bezzawy, Ahmed Dash, and Ahmed Fahmy.
The plot revolved around three Alexandrian men who work as pirates. They get involved in a dangerous mission against mafia men, after robbing a large diamond shipment, but things get a turn for the worse as one of them decides to go rogue and flee to Morocco.
“Casablanca” was shot in Marrakech, Casablanca, Safaga, and Alexandria.
