As the Israeli war on Gaza enters its second month in response to the October 7 attack, an American expert warns Israel that there is a high possibility that this war will be the “first” lost.
John Alterman of the Center for Strategic and International Studies points out, "It is very likely that the war in Gaza will be the first war in Israel's history that the Israeli army fought and lost.
Alterman stressed that this loss will be catastrophic for Israel and will cause severe damage to the United States of America (USA).
Alterman, in explaining his position, says, “Israel’s power allows the country to kill Palestinian civilians, destroy Palestinian infrastructure, and defy global calls for restraint. All of these things advance Hamas’ military goals.”
While the Israeli army is besieging the Gaza Strip and continuing a campaign of violent and destructive air and artillery bombardment and ground attacks, the American newspaper Axios estimates the Israeli invasion forces at approximately 20,000 soldiers, noting that the Hamas movement estimates its forces at 40,000 fighters.
