Amer Mounib’s Daughter Revives Father's Music Spirit

The Mariam, the daughter of late singer and actor Amer Mounib released her first song, "Aamel Eh Fe Hayatak", as a tribute to the spirit of her father on his eighth death anniversary.

“Aamel Eh Fe Hayatak” is by the lyrics of Tamer Hussein, composed by Amr Mostafa, and distributed by Ahmed Adel.

It was filmed as a music video, which was directed by Khaled El Shorbagy.

It is currently no.1 on Egypt's YouTube trending list.

"The song is a duet between Amer Mounib and his daughter from one of his songs, like superstar Latifa did before, with the addition of adding a conversation between the father and his daughter." Adel said in a statement.

This is Mariam’s first singing experience, through which she introduces herself in the Arab music scene.

She awaits the opinion of the public on whether she will revive her father's stardom, like many artists’ offspring, do.

Mounib was born on September 2, 1963, in Cairo. He is the grandson of legendary actress Mary Mounib.

The legendary actress died when he was six, leaving him passionate for art and theater before he headed to singing.

He was encouraged by musician Helmy Bakr after he heard his voice by chance.

Mounib, a lecturer at the Faculty of Commerce, left his path to stardom to pursue his Ph.D. abroad, and then studied music to sing to professionally until he released his first album in 1990.

The singer’s success paved the way to another approach, which was acting.

He made his acting debut in 2002 film, "Sehr El Oyoun” (Eyes Magic) co-stars stars Nelly Karim, Hala Shiha and Mohamed Lotfy.

"Sehr El Oyoun” earned EGP 2.5 million at the domestic box-office, which was followed by films “Kimo and his Buddy”, “the per”, and “Kamil El-awsaff”.

Mounib is best known for singing “Ayam We Layaly”, “Shouq W Hanen”, and “Nefsi aoullak”.

On November 26, 2011, he departed from the world at the age of 48 after a courageous battle with colon cancer that lasted for two years struggle.

Mounib was buried with his grandmother in Nasr City. He left behind his three daughters are Mariam, Zeina, and Nour.
