China has decided to send Egypt the 2nd batch of COVID-19 vaccine soon, to help it overcome the pandemic.
In a virtual press conference on Monday, the Chinese Ambassador to Egypt Liao Liqiang said that Cairo received 300,000 doses of China's Sinopharm vaccine on February 22, noting that China encourages its companies to sell the vaccines that Egypt needs.
The Chinese ambassador stressed that his country is determined to fulfill Chinese President Xi Jinping's promise to provide vaccines to the Egyptians.

He said that Chinese companies in Egypt conducted the late-stage clinical trials of the vaccine in cooperation with Egypt, adding that Egypt was among the first countries to receive vaccine doses.
Concerning Egypt's President Abdel Fattah El Sisi and his Chinese counterpart's latest phone call, the ambassador said that both presidents are doing their best to boost the strategic partnership between Cairo and Beijing.
Liao stressed that Egypt is China's key strategic partner and friend, highlighting its pivotal diplomatic role in the region.
