The richest man in the world and Amazon founder Jeff Bezos donated $ 100 million to fight hunger in the United States in light of the financial and health crisis facing the country against the backdrop of the spread of Corona.
The US billionaire said in a post on his account on the Instagram that in normal times many families suffer from food shortages, and Corona exacerbated the crisis.
Bezos, 56, explained that his donation of $100 million will be distributed to food banks and charitable organizations concerned with "Feed America", which provides meals to more than 40 million people annually.
"We are deeply grateful for Jeff Bezos's generous $100 million contribution to Feeding America's COVID-19 Fund. Countless lives will be changed because of his generosity," Feeding America CEO Claire Babineaux-Fontenot said.
Meantime, Amazon put restrictions on customers buying masks and medical kits to help ensure hospitals and government agencies get the supplies they need.
