ALROSA Prepares to Auction Diamond Weighs 100.94 Carats Next May

ALROSA" , the biggest producer of diamond in Russia, has announced organizing an auction at Christie's auction house to sell the biggest diamond that weighs 100.94 carats on May 12.

The Russian company released a statement says that the diamond that goes under the hammer is a part from bigger one that weighs 207.29 karat which was extracted at Zarnitsa mine in 2016.

It is the first primary diamond deposits which was discovered in Russia in 1954.

The above mentioned diamond is unique for quality.

It is also the biggest diamond that was extracted by ALROSA in the 21st century.

Refinement of the diamond takes a year and a half of the specialists of ALROASA and it gets the highest degrees of evaluation by GIA experts for color, clarity and for never inside impurities.

The company assured that refining diamond needs high quality terms.

Sergei Ivanov, Chairman of ALROAS, said that they in the company are proud to present that diamond among their collection that bears the name of the company.

He revealed that the collection comprises two other exceptional pieces which are: the splendid yellow diamond and the rose-pink one.

There are some people who show interest in buying the two diamond.

The diamond that weighs 100.94 carats is a real marvel as it is refined manually and has a magnificent volume as well as features of color and clarity in addition to guarantee the pure source.

All these advantages make that diamond a unique event.

It is worth noting that ALROAS announced last November that it plans to produce 28-30 million carats of diamond in 2021.

The company unveiled that it produced 7.5 million karat throughout the first quarter of the current year and sold 15.5 million karat in the same period.

The company indicated that revenues of selling refined and crude diamond grew by 28% within the first quarter of this year to hit $ 1.16 billion.

The volume of sales over the first quarter of 2021 diminished by 5% in the first quarter of 2020 when sales of crude diamond estimated at $ 1.126 and $ 33 million of refined diamond.

According to the quarterly results, the Russian mining company said that demand for diamond still high in all main markets around the world.

Last year, ALROSA produced 30 million carats and the volume of sales of crude diamond reached $ 2.802 billion, meanwhile sales of refined diamond was $ 2.802 billion so production of the current year is expected to grow by 5%.

Sergei Ivanov added that supply of diamond linked to the productivity capabilities of mining companies.

He pointed out that production of diamond is expected to decline by 20% in average compared to levels of pre-Coronavirus ( known also as COVID-19) but the inventories of refined and crude diamond are still balances .

Prices of refined diamond exceeded the levels of pre-COVID-19 period and those prices are still stable during the first quarter because demand was strong along with re-storing tools of cutting and refining.

On the other hand, inventories of diamond reduced by the end of the first quarter of 2021 to 12.8 million carats.

Those inventories were 20.7 million carats in the fourth quarter of 2020.

The average price per a karat of precious stones increased by 25% to hit $113 on a fourth-annual basis. This means a decline of 8% on an annual basis on the back cloth of rising indicators of prices and better mix of sales.

ALROSA company is biggest producer of diamond in Russia as it produces 95% of diamond in the country.

The company produces of the world's product of diamond.

The company explores and extracts precious stones in the Republic of Yakutia and Arkhangelsk Province in northeastern and northwestern Russia, by developing 11 kimberlite pipes and 16 silt fields.

The proven reserves this company possesses are sufficient to maintain the current rate of extraction over the next 18 to 20 years.

The Russian company has virtual reserves of nearly one-third of the world's total reserves.
