The island of Siyal, located in the Red Sea near the famous tourist resort of Marsa Alam, is surrounded by rocks and coral and has a sandy surface with scant marine vegetation.

The island is part of the Wadi El Gemal Protected Area of Egypt and is home to the white-eyed gull, with an estimated seventy individuals at the maximum, as well as several ospreys.

Siyal is known for being home to one of Marsa Alam’s main dive sites, as well as its beautiful coral reef. The site is popular for snorkeling and diving.

The most remote beaches of this island are the habitat for the spawning of different species of turtles, including the green turtle.

When you are on the island, be sure to check out Wadi El Gemal National Park - one of the most renowned and thriving national marine parks in Egypt. This park is strictly protected by a series of environmental laws to ensure its preservation.
