Algerian President Abdelmadjid Tebboune held a meeting in Algiers with the President of the Islamic Development Bank (IsDB) Group, Dr. Muhammad Sulaiman Al Jasser, to discuss ways of enhancing the partnership and cooperation between the two sides.
The meeting, which was attended by Algeria’s Minister of Finance and Chairman of the IsDB Board of Governors for 2025, Mr. Abdelkarim Bouzarrad, focused on exploring strategic cooperation frameworks between Algeria and the Bank, and avenues for further strengthening them.
According to a statement released by the Bank on Sunday evening, Dr. Al Jasser expressed his appreciation for the meeting and praised the strong ties between the People’s Democratic Republic of Algeria and the IsDB Group.
He also commended the Algerian leadership for its continued support of the Bank's plans and programs.
Dr. Al Jasser highlighted Algeria’s ambitious development path under the presidential agenda, particularly emphasizing recent achievements in infrastructure development and the national initiatives aimed at expanding the railway network.
He also conveyed the Bank’s gratitude to the Algerian government for hosting the annual meetings of the IsDB Group, scheduled to take place in Algeria from May 19 to 22.
The discussions further addressed a number of key priorities, including supporting Algeria’s economic and social development efforts, with a focus on financing infrastructure projects, diversifying the economy, and developing human capital to promote sustainable growth.
