Algeria Starts COVID-19 Vaccination Campaign

On Saturday, Algeria started a national coronavirus vaccination campaign after receiving 1st shipment of the Russian anti-COVID vaccine 'Sputnik V'.

The first dose of the vaccine was received by an Algerian female dentist in Blida province, southwest of Algiers.

In press statements, she expressed happiness after receiving the vaccine, calling on all citizens to get vaccinated against Coronavirus without fear.

The first batch of the Russian Sputnik V preparation against the coronavirus arrived in Algeria on Friday.

Algeria has so far registered more than 106,000 coronavirus cases. The total number of fatalities has surpassed 2,800 while over 72,000 patients have recovered.
