The Alexandria International Film Festival for Mediterranean Countries, headed by film critic Amir Abaza, will honor Egyptian actress Salwa Khattab, in the 37th edition, which is scheduled to take place from September 25 to October 2.
Khattab is recognized for her outstanding artistic career.
The festival is an annual event held in Alexandria, Egypt, and aims to disseminate film culture and the progress achieved in various branches of film art and to strengthen the relations among filmmakers around the globe in general and Mediterranean countries in particular.

The actress was born in Cairo on February 26, 1959. She graduated from the Higher Institute for Dramatic Arts in 1978.
Khattab made her acting debut in the 1979 film “‘Ashaq Taht El Ashreen” (Love Under 20), but her big break came in the 1984 TV series “Hend We El Doctor Noman” (Hend And Doctor Noman).
She is best known for roles in TV series "Mamlaket Eblis", "Nelly and Sherihan", "Al Ahd: El Kalam El Mobah", "Embratoreyet Meen", "Gabal Al Halal", "Segn El-Nisaa", "Niran Sadeeka", "Hadith Al-Sabah wal Masaa", "Alnnisa' Qadimun, and "Raafat Al-Haggan 2".
The actress is also known for her appearances in films such as "Ya Tahadi Ya Taadi", "Fatat Al Masna", "Al Saher", and "Shawader".
