On the margin of inaugurating Alexandria Book Fair, Dr. Inas Abdel Dayem, Minister of Culture, attended a folkloric art performance organized by the Cultural Production Sector headed by the artist Khaled Jalal.
The performance was presented by the National Troupe for Folkoric Arts- affliated to the Artistic House of popular and performance arts headed by artist Adel Abdo, the show was presented on Mohamed Abdel Wahab Theater in Alexandria.
This event comes within the framework of following up the gradual return of cultural and artistic activities in the governorates in accordance with the precautionary measures adopted to confront Corona virus.
The show was attended by Dr. Magdy Saber, head of the Egyptian Opera House, Dr. Ahmed Awad, head of the General Organization of Culture Palaces.
Abdel Dayem praised the high artistic quality and standards of the troupe, stressing that it has become one of the important elements of preserving our artistic heritage, which is an integral part of the nation's heritage.
Abdel Dayem indicated the importance of the role of culture and arts in building an enlightened society which is capable of facing intellectual challenges, stressing that heritage and folklore are among the pillars of preserving the Egyptian identity.
It is worthy of note that the ceremonies included presenting a selection of artistic dancing tableaus that express the popular heritage, aiming at supporting the Egyptian collective conscience, including the shows of: Umm Al Khaloul, Al Bambouti, Al-Asaya, Al-Hossan , Al-Aghani and others. The troupe orchestra was led by Maestro Mohamed Abu Al-Yazid.
