Albania's football federation has announced on Monday the cancelation of Wednesday's planned friendly in Armenia because of conflicts between Armenia and Azerbaijan over the disputed Nagorno-Karabakh region.
In a statement, the federation said that Albania would stay in Tirana and prepare for upcoming Nations League games on October 11 in Kazakhstan, and three days later in Lithuania.
The conflict between Armenia and Azerbaijan over the Nagorno-Karabakh region has arisen lately, with another day of intense fighting reported on Monday.
Armenia is also due to play a home game on the upcoming two Nations League matchdays, against Georgia on Sunday. Their other clash is in Estonia three days later.
