Today, President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi received Hassan Sheikh Mohamud, President of the sisterly Republic of Somalia, at the Federal Palace, where they held discussions on ways to strengthen bilateral relations and regional situations.

President Sisi said in his speech at the joint press conference, that with regard to the agreement between Somaliland and Ethiopia, we talked about that we in Egypt had a clear position that was recorded and a statement was issued by the Egyptian Ministry of Foreign Affairs rejecting this agreement, and then we affirm Egypt’s refusal to interfere in the affairs of Somalia or Prejudicing its territorial integrity, noting that this issue is one of the points discussed with the Somali President. 

President Sisi added that Somalia is an Arab country and has rights in accordance with the Arab League Charter in the common defense of any threat to it, stressing clearly that Egypt will not allow anyone to threaten Somalia or harm its security, adding: “No one will try Egypt and try to threaten its brothers, especially if its brothers ask it to intervene.” ".
