Tourism Minister Dr. Rania Al-Mashat congratulated Egypt on being one of the world’s fastest-growing destination by the World Tourism Organization (UNWTO) and for continuing to be travelers’ top choice in 2019 and 2020, as reported by Forbes.

On Twitter, Al-Mashat said: "Congratulations #Egypt for being one of the world’s fastest-growing destination by the World Tourism Organization @UNWTO & for continuing to be travelers’ top choice in 2019 and 2020."

Forbes listed 27 best places to go in 2020, including Egypt, the Greek Islands, Rwanda, Brazil, India's Jaisalmer, Cape Town, Slovenia, British Colombia in Canada, the UAE, Malaysia, and other places.

Egypt was chosen by Lexie Alford, 21, who became the youngest person to travel to every country on earth and broke the Guinness World Record in November this year.

Alford said about Egypt: "After traveling to every country in the world, Egypt is one of the countries that I would consider one of the most underrated."

The article, pointing to Egypt's outstanding culture and well-maintained history as well as its large harbors, said: "Egypt harbors such immense, well-preserved history and a unique culture that can only be discovered in this forgotten corner of North Africa."

Forbes also mentioned the coming inauguration of the Grand Egyptian Museum (GEM) -the largest archaeological museum in the world, set to open its doors for the public in 2020 and show "thousands of ancient Egyptian artifacts that have never been seen before."

It recommended the best way to explore the country is to take a Nile cruise with Abercrombie & Kent who earlier named Egypt as one of the best countries for travelers to head in the next year.
