Within the framework of the Partnership Week between the Arab Republic of Egypt and the United Nations, Dr. Rania Al-Mashat, Minister of International Cooperation, along with Elena Panova, Resident Coordinator of the UN Office in Egypt, is visiting a number of development projects in Alexandria
Al-Mashat and Elena Panova are visiting a number of development projects in Alexandria in light of the Egypt-UN Partnership Week, which will highlight the projects already implemented on ground in the different governorates in order to strengthen the partnership between the two sides, and in preparation for the final United Nations Sustainable Development Cooperation Framework (UNSDCF) 2023 - 2027 that will be signed in March.
The Egypt-UN Partnership week will include field visits to development projects implemented in a number of governorates to highlight the role of the UN, its agencies and affiliated programs, in cooperation with national entities and relevant parties, to drive inclusive and sustainable development efforts.
The projects to be visited are within the framework of the United Nations Partnership Development Framework (UNPDF) 2018 - 2022, which is focused on 4 key pillars: Inclusive Economic Development, Social Justice, Environmental Sustainability and Natural Resource Management, and Women’s Empowerment.
The locations that will be visited in Alexandria include projects on using solar panels in industrial heating processes, projects for supporting refugees, as well as social and educational programs for reintegration for juvenile detention.
